Aarcher Talent is seeking and EH&S Coordinator.  The successful applicant will plan and implement environmental and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and support to the safe operation of the facility.  They may assist with regulatory aspects of a CO2 storage project, the first of its kind in North Dakota, and a repower effort.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Manage all air, water, and waste regulations to ensure accurate monitoring, reporting and compliance. Keep current on all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and policies which have potential to impact the business.  Communicate and develop policies and procedures around any new areas of compliance.
  • Performs duties required to keep business in compliance with the Renewable Fuel
  • Standard, Department of Energy regulations and other applicable fuel-based rules.
  • Cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
  • Maintains all files and records in accordance with state and federal laws.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Oversees site specific health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations and mitigate health and safety risks to employees.
  • Plans, conducts, tracks and schedules events to train managers and employees in job specific safety and health topics. Directs emergency response activities and oversees response plans and programs.
  • Coordinates and directs the facilities’ Process Safety Management Program (PSM) and maintains an understanding of regulatory requirements regarding the use, storage, manufacturing, handling or shipment of highly hazardous chemicals.
  • Prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
  • Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards; determines corrective or preventative measures and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Performs safe work observations, tracks near miss corrective actions, and supports other proactive safety goals. Provides suggestions for procedure and process updates and assists in tracking continuous improvement.
  • Maintains all files and records in accordance with state and federal laws.

REQUIRMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of two years     
  • of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to read, speak and comprehend the English language.
  • Employee must live within 1-hour drive time from plant location

WORKING CONDITIONS

(include the travel requirements; physical requirements; office/field requirements; ADA compliance requirements)

  • This position will work in an office and production environment that will include working outside in the elements and being exposed to fumes, airborne particles and noisy conditions. Personal protective equipment will be required where appropriate.
  • Work hours for this position are, Monday through Friday with additional hours required as needed.
  • Periods of sitting, standing and repetitive motion tasks are required

 

SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental laws and regulations and their effect on the business.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, journals, contracts and government regulations
  • Skills in communication, both verbal and written to effectively communicate programs, provide training, and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Skills with Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Strong skills with report writing tools required.
  • Ability to analyze, research, organize and interpret data; possess attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to build relationships, establish credibility and influence all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize time/workload in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to create a team environment and create an environment of open dialog and continuous improvement with employees.
  • Ability to apply mathematical, statistical, and scientific concepts to practical situations.
