Aarcher Talent is looking for a Global EHS and Sustainability Director for a leading global manufacturing company.   This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in U.S. with 40% travel (some international).

Position is 75% EHS and 25% Sustainability and will direct all activities associated with maintaining a high standard of compliance and low rate of incidents within the organizations environmental health and safety function in full compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for comprehensive E.H.S. program development, implementation, and training of associates.
• Provide regulatory and permitting expertise to assure appropriate permits and reporting mechanisms are in place to comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and corporate mandates.
• Provides leadership and guidance for the Strategic Team and Tactical Teams to ensure compliance with the Company Values and E.H.S. Policy.
• Responsible for E.H.S. compliance, auditing, and audit protocol development.
• Responsible for case management of Incident Management System (open/closed cases).
• Establish procedures and systems to ensure proper reporting and administration of O.S.H.A. required records on accidents and maintenance.
• Managing and advancing document control system
• Responsible for EHS initiatives to assure a safe, economical, and functional workplace.
• Develop and implement effective Return-to-Work polices and facilitate accident investigations and corrective actions.
• Provide guidance and expert advice to management regarding safety related topics.
• Collaborate with engineering to institute control and remedial measures.
• Benchmark EHS standards to ensure we are compliant legally and on par with other similarly situated manufacturing companies.
• Provides periodic updates (verbal and written) to Senior Management and Board of Directors on overall EHS initiative, company performance to standards and achievement toward performance targets and metrics. • Perform EHS responsibilities with an ongoing focus on continuous improvement and drive to achieve world class EHS standards.

KEY SUCCESS CRITERIA:
• Key EHS Roadmap milestones met
• Target score(s) achieved for EHS audit(s)
• Regulatory forms accurately completed and all legal requirements met • Reduce IFRs (injury frequency rates)
• Direct Worker’s Compensation claims (cost)

EDUCATIONAL AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Relevant and applicable certifications (First Aid, First Responder, etc.) • More than 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in an EHS capacity
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS supervisory position
• Complete knowledge of federal and state EHS regulations
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of various software programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Access, etc.)
• Able to work with business management to ensure “zero incidents” is a priority
• Able to generate new EHS ideas for the overall EHS strategy
• Able to ensure EHS activities are understood and delivered OCCUPATIONAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• This position may require international travel initially for in-depth technical training
• 40% travel, including international, if required.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, and walking; frequent computer use; frequent telephone use; some lifting or moving up to 25 lbs. WORKING

CONDITIONS:
:• Primarily office and manufacturing floor environment with approximately 30% of this position done in the manufacturing plant.
